That sounds like the problem I usually have. I have to put some sort of examples and sometimes need a sentence or two of backstory, and once I do that, it's hard to keep in mind where the line is. (And when I first started last year, I thought I had to provide more summary so my advisor would know what I was talking about if she hadn't read the book, until she told me she didn't care about that. Oops!)
