Better videos
Dec. 6th, 2008 10:44 pmTo make up for scarring you all with Björk the other day, I bring three awesome videos:
Röyksopp - Remind Me. It's made entirely of animated informational graphics, and is amazing. The site I found it on described it with the following: "The unstated joke: mankind has erected immense, resource-devouring systems of almost incomprehensible complexity just so you can sit in your cubicle."
Frontier Psychiatrist - The Avalanches. I can't even name a favorite part of this, but the ghost choir is up there, as is the old lady drummer and the three men playing unnecessarily complex-looking horns. (The song is made up of samples, and they...put all the samples onstage. I think that's the idea, anyway.)*
Sugarcube - Yo La Tengo. The premise is that a not very hard rockish band gets sent to "rock school" to learn how to make a video. The best part is the lesson on how to trash a hotel room (and how they fail, fail, fail).
* A really, really awesome Northern Exposure vid could be made to this, I think.
