(I guess they're trying to imply that she lost touch with the world pop culture after she was abandoned or something and thus she is still stuck in 1989, but still.)
This plus the Smurfs thing suggests that as a young teen she was still wrestling with her inner nerd - perhaps by 17 she had thrown herself into science (and out of tv?) as a defensive mechanism? Or perhaps I'm working too hard to justify early awful writing...
I particularly liked Cam's reaction; I think she might have been the closest of all of them to the poor boy.
Um. What I got from that bizarre line was "OMG CAM HAS BEEN SLEEPING WITH ZACK IN SECRET SINCE LAST SEASON!" Because, really... that's a weird line for a boss, or even a friend, to throw in there...
it was also oh-so obvious that the writers said, "Shit! The strike cut us from 22 to 15 episodes, and we have to cram in Booth faking his death, Gormagon being caught, and Zack being the apprentice before the season ends! Ahhh!"
Yeah, you could tell they wanted to space even the stalker lady out over several episodes... : (
remember how I said, way back at the fourth episode of S1, the one where he knew so much about cannibals, that Zack reminded me of a serial killer?
Hehehe awwwwww. Poor Zackaroni.
the picture of Booth wearing a beer-dispensing hat, reading a comic book in a bubble bath, I have found exactly what I need for "dorky."

So now we remember Cam was once a cop and we have to mention it five times in the episode?
Uhhh I certainly didn't remember that. (I've been wondering all season what exactly she's supposed to be an expert in, other than bossing people around.)
