Heh. I'm highly amused that out of everyone on my flist who's posted something exclamatory about gifts received, almost all of the posts, including mine, have been about kitchen appliances or bakeware. I guess you can tell that much of my flist is only a couple years out of college. :D

PYREX IS NOT TO BE TRIFLED WITH.

And I got a KNIFE! A knife that cuts through tomatoes! Instead of just crushing their spirits!

At least we aren't all getting baby accessories? Or adult-incontinence solutions?

Oh my goodness, yes. I asked for baking supplies and/or a bread recipe book in the extended family gift exchange. (Of course, for the extended family gift exchange for the other side of the family, I asked for knitting supplies. Taken together, this may be proof that my mother is right when she says I was born too late.)

Hahaha, well, my gift squeeing so far -- we haven't done Christmas at my house yet -- is a green TI-83 Plus. Yes, it is a calculator and I have named it Kermit. I am geek; hear me roar. :D

Also, yay, kitchen appliances and bakeware! Cooking utensils are awesome!

I got pot holders and homemade dish cloths and was very happy.
Apparently I'm officially an adult or something.

Dude, I am out of college 15.5 years now, and I'm getting a STOVE. (Which I am still not altogether sure I need, because I suspect Dad could come out and fix mine in July and I could light it with a match or other flame until then, but he is convinced that I will blow myself up/burn my house down if I do that. Never mind that I lit the pilot light on my furnace many times and lived to tell!)

Anyway, you don't have to be right out of college for appliances to die...
