I'm not much into watching TV myself, but do have one for one reason -- DVD's. I own a shitload of DVD's and watching them on the laptop just isn't the same, especially with movies like Lord of the Rings. They need a big screen and 14" just don't cut it.

I understand your reasoning, though. I wouldn't pay for cable either, but in my current apartment I happen to have satellite TV which costs me nothing. I'm certainly not complaining.
