B5: "A Race Through Dark Places"
Mar. 15th, 2009 03:47 pm- I might have to change my opinion of Talia if she keeps being vaguely awesome like she was in this episode. She still comes off as a bit whiny, but it's cut with interesting rebellion now. Bester, of course, remains creepy. (By the way, I assume that at some point it's explained why telepaths exist in the twenty-third century but not in the twenty-first?)
- When I heard that the show had implied a relationship between Ivanova and Talia, I had expected the odd covert glance or dialogue with double meaning, not midnight conversations over wine with one of them in her nightgown. I still feel certain Talia is going to break Ivanova's heart, but nevertheless I am thoroughly intrigued by this relationship.
- I also feel a need to point to the what-I-totally-read-as flirting between Ivanova and Garibaldi around the middle of the episode in Earheart's. She even called him cute! *cuddles her doomed rarepair*
- And continuing the theme of the last two bullet points: Sheridan and Delenn have their first date. Aww. He was so befuddled by her human dress (with good reason, for she was gorgeous there). One thing troubles me about her human appearance: okay, so there's the headbone, and there's also hair above and below it. Obviously, in reality the prosthetic bone fits over Mira Furlan's real hair, but if it were actually part of her head, wouldn't the hair growth be visibly separated? Like, there would be a layer on the top of her scalp, and then another layer below it, and the layer on top would have to lay over the bone, rather than continue under it to come out the bottom, as it appears to do.
- Not sure what the title referred to in this one. Usually it's quite obvious. Hmmm.
