I love Vir. If only Londo had half the sense that Vir has.

Vir should totally be the ambassador and Londo the attache. Although I get the impression that Vir would much rather just have a plain, boring office job on Centauri Prime and forget any of this diplmatic BS ever existed...

Ah, but there's "beyond the veil" and "beyond the rim."

Hmmm. The veil is something you can't come back from, while the Rim is a permiable barrier, yes? LOTR has regular death and passing into the west/undying lands, both of which are pretty final, as I recall. (It's been a few years since I read the books.)

When I saw the LOTR movies, so many times I thought of B5. "Oh, look, this is where he got THIS part!"

Hee. I read the books and watched the movies, and spent much of the time going, "So that's where EVERY FANTASY AUTHOR EVER got their ideas! At least those they didn't steal from Lord Dunsany's books!"

Should really watch them back to back somehow, since it's become screamingly obvious to me that I'm never going to get through the books.

The books are a slog at times (Two Towers took me a while), but worth it, IMO. Return of the King has some gorgeous parts. I even liked the songs, but I know I'm in the minority there. (Hell, I made it through The Silmarillion and its appendices; I'm pretty sure most don't manage that!)

I cannot wait until you get to a certain episode I will not name here so you're totally unspoiled (or at least, not spoiled on my account). One of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

Oooh.
