I was thinking the meteorite had woken up Racetrack, and she saw the firefight and started shooting.
Oh, it woke her up all right--long enough to see it go straight through the windshield and let all their oxygen out. There wasn't a living soul on that Raptor, which is why it was just floating in space like that, directionless.
They had enough of one to have new representatives, including Cylon ones...surely there was some kind of succession, especially since they knew Laura was going to die any day now.
Itty bitty little brand-new baby government. I can only refer you to the fact that we had a government and a constitution for nearly 200 years before any line of succession past VP was specified in 1947 (http://www.usconstitution.net/consttop_succ.html). I really don't think they'd got that far. Who other than Lee would have picked Lampkin anyway??
