icepixie | Thesis win

I've had an epic thesis win over the past couple of days. Remember how I couldn't decide between "contemporary women poets writing against the aisling trope" and "contemporary poets mapping the Irish landscape"? I found a way to combine them. YES. YES, I DID. My thesis is now about how Eavan Boland, specifically--but in concert with several other figures such as Heaney, McGuckian, and Ni Dhomhnaill--rejects the mapping of Ireland onto women and women's bodies and instead maps the nation onto historical events, personal experience, the suburbs, and other non-living entities. YAAAAAY.

My director, by the way, is awesome. I knew that before, but I don't think I'd mentioned it. Anyway, mentioning. Because he is.
