Cupid and Shakespeare
May. 6th, 2009 01:49 pmOh, this episode. So much more fail than usual. Yeah, people in their mid-twenties are really going to be wowed by a date consisting of crashing some random high school's homecoming dance. Uh-HUH. And then to add insult to injury, they played a godawful country song at said dance. Honorable mention goes to Claire's makeup, which either was much worse this week or was more noticible. Who put her in that neon pink lipstick and entirely too much rouge? Oy.
On the good side, the girl's accent actually sounded authentic, and didn't make me want to kill puppies. And the food looked tasty. And I liked that for once one of Trevor's couples didn't hop into bed immediately.
Also, "Claire-bear" made a return, which made me ridiculously happy.
*
Back to The Tempest, which I have somehow managed to overlook until this point in my life. I think it's the last of the major plays that I haven't read, so I feel accomplished. Oh...wait, no, I haven't read Merchant of Venice. Although one might quibble whether that's major in the same way that, say, Hamlet or Lear or even the Henriad are.
At some point over the course of my life, I'm going to read them all. Might as well get all the use out of my Big Book O' Shakespeare as I can.
