POV Shifting is one of my problems as well. I too feel the need to jump from head to head and as a reader it doesn't bother me when we've suddenly switched POVs in the middle of a scene. I can see where the argument could be made of the importance of staying in one character's POV but I tend to look at it like filming a scene from different camera angles. Some scenes have more impact from a closeup, some scenes from a wider angle, from a camera over John's shoulder seeing Aeryn's reactions or a camera over Beckett's shoulder showing Castle's shenanigans through her eyes etcetera, it's just all about what helps tell the story with as much oomph as possible for me.
