Maybe I'm judging it too harshly, but I distinctly remember blabbering on to my father after I'd watched the mini-series for the first time and comparing its distinct post-9/11 feel to Star Trek's preoccupation with the Cold War. Some analogies were obvious from the get go; however, I might simply be projecting a lot of my post-season 4 bitterness on the way these analogies were previously handled.

(And I did like the torture issue in the Pegasus arc. Um, 'like' is perhaps the wrong word. You know what I mean...)
