Also, is Stana Katic's character called Kate Beckett by any chance? Because said fictional Kate is currently doing very well in a fandom poll about kick-ass female character, and you know me: I'm always up for a show with a great female lead!

She is indeed called Kate Beckett. I've heard of that poll; she does appear to be doing well, and for good reasons. She's got the sort of cliched tragic past that made her become a cop, but there's obviously more going on underneath that that's interesting to see revealed. And she can take Castle down like nobody's business. ;) Yay banter!
