You know what I enjoy most of your fics? The dialogues. They seem so natural and fluid, so in canon that they actually could have been part of the movie
Thank you! I think dialogue is my greatest pleasure in writing. It definitely was for this one, anyway.
The movie ending is too abrupt.
It is, isn't it? Yeah, on some level, the dancing takes the place of plot points conveyed in dialogue, but they tried to cram too much into that last piece, I think.
That made me laugh, haha.
:D I had great fun inserting that reference. I tried to make one to Jerry and Dale as well, but it didn't work out. Oh, well.
Other thing that I liked was the doubts of Linda because she was right, they barely know each other. That was a good point.
Thanks. Something that bugs me about all the films where they don't start out knowing each other is how quickly they end up falling in love and getting engaged. Sure, romantic comedies and musicals have a skewed sense of reality, and the time period pretty much forced romances to end with the prospect of marriage, but these take it to the extreme. It works okay when I'm actually watching the film, but once it's over and I think back on the plot, it really stands out.
