Oh, Wyndham Lewis.

AUTOMOBILISM (Marinetteism) bores us. We don't want to go about making a hullo-bullo about motor cars, anymore than about knives and forks, elephants or gas-pipes.

Elephants are VERY BIG. Motor cars go quickly.

(Do I remember correctly that we all got a big kick out of that in Jesse's class? I know we read something from Blast at one point.)

And the other manifestos are just as entertaining. Sometimes they just sound cranky rather than like they're trying to invent a new aesthetic. Oh, modernists, never stop amusing me.
