Because I'm sick of reading.
Sep. 29th, 2003 06:45 pmDefinitely joining Kate (ballroom Kate, not roomie Kate or
tarzanic Kate) and Sarah in their complete adoration of Kim McMullen. *happy bouncing* After twenty minutes in her office this morning, I now have a thesis, a direction, and reference books for my paper. YAY!
1. Name your ten favorite fictional characters of all time and what book, movie, or tv show they came from.
(in no particular order)
1. Cordelia Vorkosigan - Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan novels
2. Miles Vorkosigan - see above
3. Samantha Carter - Stargate: SG-1
4. Aeryn Sun - Farscape
5. John Crichton - Farscape
6. Kate - The Taming of hte Shrew
7. Rebecca Fogg - The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne
8. Daria Morgendorffer - Daria
9. Kathleen Kelley - You've Got Mail (dammit, she and the movie are both cute as hell)
10. Death - Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels
2. Name five fictional characters that you would like to have an affair with and/or marry, plus the source. You may disregard any pre-existing attachments for these characters.
1. Legolas - LOTR (what did you expect?)
2. Daniel Jackson - Stargate (In his not-dumb moments, that is. And preferably with the floppy hair.)
3. Scott Hastings - Strictly Ballroom
4. Captain Jack Sparrow! *snicker*
5. Duncan - VR.5
3. Name five literary/fictional worlds that you would like to live in.
1. Wonderland. As in Alice.
2. Harry Potter/Hogwarts.
3. Can I live on the Asgard homeworld? Please? If not, I guess the general SG-1 universe is okay.
4. Discworld.
5. Xena's version of ancient Greece and Rome, which tends to remind me of Discworld.
4. What classic/critically acclaimed work(s) of literature do you fully appreciate the artistic merits of but hate nonetheless?
I have major issues with Wuthering Heights, but I also refuse to acknowledge that it has any literary merit, so yeah.
5. Name five books that you would recommend I read.
1. Cordelia's Honor - Lois McMaster Bujold (it's a two-fer!)
1b. A Civil Campaign - LMB
2. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King - J.R.R. Tolkien
3. Passage - Connie Willis
3b. Doomsday Book - Connie Willis
4. Good Omens - Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
5. The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood
Yes. I cheated. I care not.
Library time.
