Haha! That would require me to actually think of explanations, though. Not sure I'm up to that. (Though I did write a ficlet where they find out that Delenn's been teaching their kid to speak Minbari. And I'm contemplating one where she ambushes Susan and starts asking her all these horribly awkward questions about human males, on the assumption that hey, she's living with one, she'd probably know...)
That's a really interesting question, in that I don't think we've ever seen any indication of what she would be, except possibly early on when Sheridan shows up. She seems very comfortable with him, and he's certainly a steady presence in her life to some extent, but that's kind of a different thing.
Yes, this. She keeps trying to find people who will be constants in her life, and they keep getting ripped away from her--her mother, her brother, her father, Talia, Marcus, etc. etc. (And presumably the "moving around to various schools to hide her telepathy" during childhood contributed to that as well. Uh, I think that's canon; if it's not mentioned in "Divided Loyalties," then I'm pretty sure I got it from something JMS wrote online.) And by the time Marcus dies, she just...gives up on the idea, to the point where she apparently doesn't even see John and Delenn much in the twenty years that come between the end of S4 and SiL. So we never get to see what would happen if life gave her a bit of a breather, and that makes me sad. :(
