W13: Some Tripart Impressions

icepixieWarehouse 13 has greatly conflicted me of late. (I've been watching regularly since the episode with the Firefly alums, though I still don't think it's that great of a show.)
The part of me that generally goes for the Big Obvious Usually-Canon Ship is grudgingly shipping Pete/Myka, despite the fact that I think they probably work better in a brother/sister relationship than a romantic one. But occasionally they have moments where they're, you know, kind of cute, and I am a bit helpless in the face of cute. Plus I'm less than enamored of either of their love interests of the moment. I liked Kelly when she was snarky and mean to Pete, but now that she's kind of snuggly, she's become rather dull. Tonight's wrestler love interest for Myka does not bear thinking about.
The part of me that loves viable femslash and is still a bit pissed that Rizzoli & Isles turned out to suck really, really wants HG Wells to become a regular and for them to actually Go There with her and Myka, 'cause wow, the chemistry last time was impressive. Sadly, I don't think this will happen. But there's always fanfic.
The part of me that cares more about characters than relationships between them is wishing the show would just dump Pete and Myka already, 'cause they're pretty dull, and concentrate on Claudia and Artie, who are not. I think this part is winning. (Though the femslash part is giving it some stiff competition.)

Date: 2010-08-25 04:05 am (UTC)I really don't think they're trying to push Pete/Myka anymore. They seem to have settled into the BFF roles rather nicely.
If Myka doesn't have a crush on HG I'd be shocked. They have some great chemistry and Syfy would be stupid to not use it. *crosses fingers* I'm foolishly getting my hopes up again, but I'm strangely okay with that.
