Fringe ends up having a lot more humor in it as it progresses - and not just from Walter, either. Although Darin Morgan is gone after S1, and I can't remember if he ever actually writes an episode.

Actually, fandom at first was very, very wary of Peter/Olivia, or at least the places I haunted were. I think everyone really dug the dynamic the way it was set up, with everyone part of the team, and didn't want to risk anything changing. (There's a lot more shippiness now, but that's to be expected.) I was just surprised, because when I first started testing the waters I expected a lot more squee (I was squeeing!), and instead there was a lot of cautious "I don't know guys, I like the show the way it is." I was like, where am I? Is this real life?
