Ech. I'm just about the point of demoting Castle to "watch online if people say the episode was good" status. Not because they've done anything egregiously annoying; it's just been...blah lately. The character moments aren't as front and center as they used to be, Castle and Beckett just don't seem to be taking as much joy in each other as they used to even when working together on the case, and Alexis in particular is starting to annoy. She sounded like an after school special this time around--well, more so than usual. Esposito and Ryan are still awesome, but they hardly get enough screen time to make it worth watching just for them.

(Hey, WRITERS. Maybe you should've skipped this stupid stalling tactic you're working. As it is, if the show got canceled right now, I'd probably just mourn the possibilities for five minutes, shrug, and move on.)

Darn, I was hoping it was going to be a decent episode (I still got an hour). While I still watch it and enjoy it, it's not nearly as much fun since the writers started going for all the more typical cliches we see in *every* cop drama. I liked Castle because it was wacky and unpredictable. For now, I still don't usually figure out who the bad guy is until a few minutes before the characters do (and mostly because they give us so many possibilities that it's hard to "pick the least likely option!"), but I feel it is only a matter of time. ::sigh::

I haven't seen last night's ep yet but I do know what you mean. There have been a couple of 'bleh' eps for me this season (but then last week we got all that lovely nekkid boy-flesh. HELLO!) I'd say we're in a wee dip at the mo but it's still tons better than 99% of what's shown on either side of Ye Olde Ponde...
