Do all screenwriting profs eventually get nicknames? Mine was...well, her name is unique and easily googlable, but we called her "DeVoid," which is not far from her real name.
My other two reasons were 1.) I am a control freakenthusiast, and don't want to leave so much of the production of my story to other people, and 2.) while I love writing dialogue, I also love writing description. Prose is definitely more my thing. Poetry is probably even more my thing.
Not to mention the fact that I would neeeeever make it in Hollywood. I like time to brood over my writing/revisions, and would probably react badly to notes from boneheaded execs.
