Happy 2011 to all. I spent the last hours of the old year and the first hours of the new doing many things: listening to Eddie from Ohio's "Twenty Thousand Hearts," which contains a reference to New Year's Eve; watching a couple episodes of due South, which I had promised myself I was not going to rewatch, but which I appear to be rewatching anyway, albeit in piecemeal fashion; writing a dS ficlet; reading much Slings & Arrows fic; finishing Nicholas Christopher's A Trip to the Stars (not entirely what I expected, but worth reading, and the best use of surprise!vampires I've seen in a while) then starting Ali Shaw's The Girl with Glass Feet, which is dreamy and pretty and features magic and a man who loves photography; and working out the last of the kinks in my S&A/dS crossover.

I think it'll be ready to post tomorrow, maybe Monday, and I'm feeling a bit let down that it's over, because this is the most fun I've had writing anything in quite a while. For various reasons, writing it also forced me, oh the horror, to re-read Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo and Juliet, The Tempest, and A Midsummer Night's Dream, as well as read As You Like It for the first time, so my Big Red Norton Shakespeare Doorstop is getting the workout I'd planned to give it ever since I inherited it from a crowded office bookshelf six years ago in Exeter.
