Fringe: "6B"

Awwww. Those two crazy kids finally got it together. Olivia leading Peter by the hand up to his bedroom was really sweet. I guess this was an appropriate episode for Valentine's Day week.
The whole episode was kind of sweet, though not in a saccharine way. This is the way to make big plot-related shit dependent on feelings without seeming either over the top or actively offensive (see: love triangle). I think whoever played Alice Merchant so very, very well was the bedrock of making that convincing, but the "spooky action at a distance"/Einstein reference was the string that held it together, if you'll forgive my mixed metaphor. (As those of you who've read my poetry know, I have A Thing for personification and anthropomorphic extrapolation of scientific concepts.) Plus the case was interesting in and of itself, rather than just serving as a springboard for getting Fauxlivia under an ultrasound wand, like some I could name. *cough*
I liked that Walter was worried about turning into Walternate, and found it fascinating that he would be the one to push hardest for use of Amber while even Nina thought there could be a different way. (Speaking of which, are they trying to hint at something between Walter and Nina? I hope not.) Him shipping Peter and Olivia is never going to get old. Awww.
Broyles got the best lines in the whole thing. He already knows the president, who doesn't like him because he beats him at golf. Also: "This is about feelings?" Hee!
Preview: What if they met AS KIDS?!? is one of those fanfic concepts that I've never wanted/expected to actually see on screen, but I await the opportunity to be pleasantly surprised. I'm alternately amused that Walter was shipping them when they were eight and horrified that he, like, meant to breed them or something. Also, predestination is my BIG HUGE GIANT MAMMOTH turn-off for a couple, but thankfully I'm already three and a half seasons' worth of invested in these two, so if it does indeed turn out to be ~destiny~, I think I'll survive it.
