I based the "I was wondering when you'd figure it out" somewhat on Roslin and Adama's "I love you"/"About time" exchange on BSG. The way BoP is structured, I feel like if anything does happen in canon between Megan and Peter, it'll go kind of like that, with a lot of friendshippy stuff that eventually evolves into Wait, Are We Dating? and then to actual romance, with Peter seeing the writing on the wall much sooner than Megan.
