I really think Megan was just using him at the party and letting people assume he was a COLLEAGUE-WINK-WINK so they wouldn't ask her about her husband / mention their second cousin who's really quite nice once you get to know him and could use a lovely woman like you. ETC.

I HAVE BEEN CONTEMPLATING THAT OF LATE MYSELF. Mostly because they're both blond and about the same height and basically look very well-matched.
I too sort of love the idea of everyone partying together, although yes, it doesn't make very much sense. Also, Bud and Sam would probably prefer their police buddies over the ME crew, although maybe Sam wouldn't. (I...am sort of kind of maybe considering Megan/Sam? Sam seems to like her. Hmmm.)
Let's pretend this is a different guy and she just sleeps around a lot, so we can appreciate the cute without wanting the world to end.
That sounds like an excellent idea, because she was really was very cute, and I would love for her to have a boy/girlfriend WHO IS NOT MEGAN'S EX.

She is, isn't she? Dana Delany did say that we'd understand why Megan is such a spectacular failure at mothering once we met her mom.
I really don't know if Megan's fall from grace embarrassed her mom, because I think Megan probably projected her own embarrassment onto everyone around her.
Yes, this is definitely true. I think Megan pretty much projects her ENTIRE EMOTIONAL SPECTRUM onto everyone around her. Although I think it would really interesting if it were true.
Re: Preview: OMG, I know. I was expecting something like that after reading the IMDB summary, but oooooooof. And they're going to have a flashback, which is even worse.
I mean, it's not like she chose this profession as her first choice.
Seriously! Although in my head, I've fanwanked that she had some kind of history with pathology before going into neurosurgery, because although they did at least give her three years between her accident and getting hired by Kate to school herself in and get certified as an ME, seriously, there had to be a reason she didn't just go into a neurology-related profession that didn't require she be a surgeon.
(I keep trying to make this aspect of her character, as well as the whole acting-like-a-cop thing, work in my head. I wish they'd give us a real handwavey kind of reason rather than me having to fanwank so much.)
Maybe I should just stop watching TV after the pilot and imagine the rest of the episodes in my head.
You might've had better luck with this one, yes! I'm still hoping they dump almost all the writers after this season and get a better crop for S2. (If there is an S2. But the ratings have been decent, and ABC hasn't launched a new drama since Castle, so it's looking good!)
