The neighbors' cat has the most attractive cat eyes I've ever seen.



I was trying to get him to look at me and make an attractive composition with the daisies, but no dice. Damn cat.



In other news, Antje Duvekot put out another live album. She has a cover of "They All Laughed" from Fred and Ginger's Shall We Dance on there that, I'll admit, I don't love*, but I'm surprised and amused that it's getting covered at all these days. The three I really like are "Sweet Spot," "The Wind," and especially "Four Stitches," which I gather is the newest song on the CD. It's quickly rising in the ranks of my favorite Antje songs.

* On some of her live material she sounds incredibly nervous, and I don't know if she's actually nervous or if she just has some kind of uncontrollable shaky quality to her voice that comes and goes. Either way, it tends to make me feel sympathetically anxious.

Oh btw? A family of birds has built themselves a nest in the eaves directly outside my kitchen and hatched a bunch of nestlings. We can hear them cheeping like they're inside the kitchen all the time. They make me think of you and your love of birds. :)
