Warehouse 13
Three things:
1. Ah, they unleashed the evil I always knew was in Mrs. Frederick. And Southern Sally is no longer on our screens, which is a blessing.
2. I guess Aaron Ashmore isn't getting a contract for next season. Though maybe they want a conscience for the team or something and will keep him around.
3. "Mom?" ...um. I'm not sure if it's more mindblowing that Pete's mom is Captain Janeway, or that Pete's mom is a Regent.
Rizzoli & Isles
Even when this show tries to show its characters are straight, it just makes them look more gay. I've seen members of het couples where the PTB are legit pushing the UST get less jealous than Jane got over Maura and Ian. Then she didn't even arrest the guy when she really probably should have. Even Ma Rizzoli almost seemed to recognize it more as "jilted crush" than "best friend has no time for me."
Apparently there was also a case, and Maura considers Ian the "love of her life" or some such (LIES, it's totally Jane), but that was what I got out of the episode.

I was really happy that they had him there saying all the things about torture and why it doesn't work and actually taking a stand with his morals. Hopefully once Claudia talks to Mrs. Fredrick or one of the Regents now that they have a good in there.
3. I was oddly not surprised by Jane being Pete's mom. Right before she turned around I totally called that Pete was going to say mom. On the other hand I apparently ship Myka/Jane a.k.a Pete's mom.

Date: 2011-08-31 05:50 pm (UTC)Looking back on the episode with Jane=Pete's mom in mind a lot of things make sense that way (not to mention all the little hints that something was up). I'd really been hoping that Jane would be a mentor figure for Myka. And they were slashy as hell. At least to my eyes. But she's going to stick around for at least another episode.
Side note: You ever have those bizarre fic ideas that you know you'll never write, but that are fun to play with in your head? I've been playing with this Warehouse 13/Star Trek fic in my head and this episode only helped fill in a number of issues I'd been working around. Because clearly it's entirely possible for regular agents to be promoted to Regents. Especially since a large number of them have been killed off recently and all. And I'm betting that once Jane (hopefully we'll get her real name eventually) decided to join Star Fleet she had to pass on guardianship. And thus Pete's Mom=Captain Janeway in my head.

YES. Although I can't say as a W13/Star Trek crossover ever entered my mind. ;)

Date: 2011-09-01 01:53 am (UTC)I gotta admit that I didn't think it was all that evil, given what Southern Sally was doing. I'm much more curious about the villain claiming that the Warehouse agents aren't always the good guys - clearly he's going to be an ex-agent or a relative of one. And I hope to see much more of Sasha Roiz.

From the way the camera kept showing Sally playing with her ring, I thought that she was tricking Jinx into sympathizing with her and thought that Mrs. Frederick might have picked up on that. Maybe I was reading too much into it.

Has the show ever mentioned Pete's mother? It's mentioned his father numerous times, but I can't remember her ever coming up. But yeah, Pete's mom being a Regent is pretty freakin' cool, and his being an agent explains her attitude about destiny.

Date: 2011-09-02 02:29 am (UTC)Well, evil in the sense that I think she was using the artifact as much for revenge as for intel-gathering. After all, it's not like they don't have plenty of other artifacts that would make her spill her info without (that much) pain.

I like the idea of this as well, but don't they only have four episodes (and presumably a Christmas special) left? I wonder if they can really do interesting things with that in such a short amount of time. This was my problem with HG's turn last year...it felt rushed because they were running out of episodes.
I thought that she was tricking Jinx into sympathizing with her and thought that Mrs. Frederick might have picked up on that.
I do wonder if Mrs. Frederick was trying to get him to go double agent with the bad guys by continuing to use the artifact on Sally once he objected. Hmmm.
Has the show ever mentioned Pete's mother?
I don't think so, but I didn't see most of S1. They might have.
