THE HISTORY PAPER OF DOOM IS DONE!!!
I finished it yesterday night, but spent most of the morning and part of the afternoon today reworking the citiations and bibliography. Because footnote/Turabian style is IDIOTIC. You give all the bibliographic information in your footnotes, and then copy it into the actual bibliography, but there you use periods instead of commas and parentheses. And whoever designed that was on crack. Or addicted to commas. Comma here, comma there, all unnecessary...AUGH! MLA style is so. Much. Simpler. Good LORD.
The paper ended up being 23 pages, including a 3-page bibliography. (Of course, a good bit of that was footnotes. The actual paper probably would've been two pages shorter in MLA format.) Yes, the minimum was fifteen, but I tend to ramble. Except for the fact that my thesis falls somewhere between "weak" and "non-existant," it's not half-bad. I get the feeling that for anyone else in the history department, it would be a good paper, but for Singer, who wants crazy things, it might not be. Sigh.
Too bad I learned absolutely nothing while writing this paper. Note to self: quit writing on Irish nationalism. You know it all already.
The English paper is much better. I wrote it in about six hours on Saturday afternoon/evening. I've really got to start outlining and finding every possible quote that has to do with my topic before I write papers, 'cause that's what I did for that one, and it worked beautifully. It even ended up right around the eight-page maximum.
And I got the Anthro paper back this week. Go me with the 95. Woo-hoo! Assuming I don't majorly crap up on the final, I'm almost certain of an A in that class.
And now I have three finals to study for and four days to do it in. I'm counting the seconds until 9:30 Saturday night, when my last exam is over and I can spend one more night here and then go home! Wheeeee!!!
