But frankly, I could care less - Rizzoli & Isles would be so much better if they devoted 5 minutes or less to crime-solving and had the rest just be Jane & Maura being awesome together.
Seriously, they need to just dump the crime altogether. Although I think if they did, we'd get even more men of the week, which, ugh.
Maura this episode was pretty much "Look, Jane, you're REALLY SLOW, and I have needs, so I'll just hook up with a random man...unless you have a problem with that?"
And she may not have said as much, but body language indicates she definitely did have several problems with that. I loved the bit towards the beginning, where they meet Giovanni for the first time and Maura starts flirting, only for Jane to muscle her way in between Maura and Giovanni. Hee!
But it makes me happy to remember that last week's episode established that Maura can actually lie now.
Oh, yeah. Very true.
So I like to think Maura thought "If I tell the truth and say that OF COURSE I WANT TO SLEEP WITH YOU WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN FOR THE LAST TWELVE EPISODES, ON MARS?, you will freak out because you are so far in the closet you're rooming with Aslan."
Hee! Very possible! Maybe she should casually mention that she's slept with women in the past, and that she has kind of a thing for brown-eyed brunettes, or something along those lines, just to build up to it...
The only way that line made sense was if she meant "we'd never see each other, because if we didn't work together, we'd never have met", because, omg, they are with each other CONSTANTLY.
Yeah, I think she probably meant that too, but the words didn't quite convey it...
And how much did I love that Jane AND Maura were taking Angela to brunch? Maura is totally her new daughter-in-law.
I know! That was so awesome. Even if Angie never does hear about the LLBFF thing from Giovanni--and oh, I AGREE that she needs to!--someday she should take Jane aside and ask when she and Maura are going to get married already, I mean, don't they know they can do that in Massachusetts now?
