LJ, why so broken?

icepixieOh, LJ. LJ, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? The new default comment pages are a nightmare! Why would you take away the preview button? And the subject line? And the "thread" and "parent" buttons? And make choosing an icon such a hassle? And make it take forever to expand nested comments? HOW IS ANY OF THIS AN IMPROVEMENT?
(I admit, I like the idea of the "new comment" marker, but WHY IS IT AT THE BOTTOM OF SAID COMMENT, HOW IS THAT USEFUL TO ANYONE?)
I've switched my own journal's comment pages back to the custom ones, which at least gives me back functionality. You're all just going to have to stare at my Fred and Ginger banner when you comment until LJ FIXES THIS.
And if they don't fix it...well, I've been hesitant to switch from a paid account at LJ to one at DW because I still do most of my reading and commenting on LJ and I like having paid features here. But this is what's finally going to push me over the edge, I think.
