Well, from the title I figured something like this might happen. Still sad, though. I was hoping the bridge would stick around through next season, since it made for such awesome interactions between the doppelgangers. (Why didn't we have more of this during the season? Sigh.)
The first fifty minutes didn't do a lot for me. I've never been all that into Nick Lane, though it was nice to see him and Sally again, I suppose. And I guess it's good to see what Jones is up to? Though it doesn't make any sense--how could collapsing the two universes into one make it so that Jones controls the laws of nature? This seems unlikely. But hey, whatever.
The last ten minutes were great, though, starting with Walter and Walternate's conversation in the hall. John Noble, how do you not have a STACK of Emmys on your bookcase?! Damn. Walter knowing he might lose Peter when they turned off the machine--and even saying that he's "come to accept that Peter is not ours"--just killed me. And then Walternate quoting Marcus Aurelius and saying he thinks they can both spend the rest of their lives making their worlds better killed me even more. The old Walternate would never have said that.
The camerawork implying that Redlivia is Lincoln's home/heart squicked me out a bit--um, let Red!Lincoln's body cool a bit? The pairing the spares thing also bothers me--but I kind of expected it. From the moment Linc decided to hang out in Redverse a few episodes ago, you could pretty much tell he was going to stay over there when the universes inevitably untangled themselves.
The conversation between the two Olivias was also affecting. Given Ourlivia's memory loss about the first half of the season, does she even remember working with Redlivia? It was funny to watch her staring at Redliv during their conversation, and you could just see her thinking, "Bitch, you slept with my boyfriend! Except you actually didn't, so I can't hate you, but I really want to!"
Altstrid waving at Astrid totally made me tear up. Nooooo, you can't separate the Astrids, they were adorable together!
Of course, we do have an Olivia who can cross over, so I suppose they aren't separated forever...
Looking forward to next week!
