Castle 5.01: "After the Storm"

I currently live the stereotype of Central timezone people being farmers who go to bed early (without the farming), and so I try to be in bed, if not quite to lights out, at 9:30ish. It seems I will be watching Castle online on Tuesdays again.
Soooo...the Johanna Beckett story isn't done yet, is it? Damn. But at least it's on hold. Maybe they'll leave it that way for a year or two. I can hope, anyway.
On the other hand, I liked that Beckett got agency in this case (which has been sorely missing FOR MORE THAN A YEAR) when she went after the senator (of course it's a senator, when is it not a congresscritter) and was all, "I could kill you, but actually, here's how it is. I have done a complete end-run around you and blocked any exit from this deal we will make. Deal with THAT. *Darren Nichols swan* *okay, not really* *but it would've been awesome*"
Castle/Beckett finally hooking up was done well enough, for the five minutes of screentime it got. I'd seen pretty much every relevant scene via sneak peaks, but I still enjoyed Beckett sliiiiding to the door, realizing she'd forgotten her bra, and having to go back. Heh.
I actually kind of enjoyed Gates this time. Will wonders never cease?
I still wish Beckett and Esposito had joined up to form their own P.I. business, with Castle helping out and Ryan as their friend on the police force, because I am le tired of the homicide department, but oh, well.
