Actually, now that I'm looking at the pattern dances, they must have just been swings, since everything else she was doing fits the Canasta Tango diagram.

I think there's some kind of non-dance pattern that you start out with that includes swing rolls and chasses, but don't quote me on that. Frankly, I don't get the point of chasses. They're just kind of...there. And not particularly attractive. I guess maybe they help with keeping on a beat or something?
