Well, after a night I wouldn't wish on anyone (hacking up lungs, swallowing razor blades, drowning in my own fluids--all of these are excellent metaphors, yet I don't think they convey the true agony of last night), I threw myself on the mercy of the staff clinic this morning and walked away with my first ever diagnosis of bronchitis. This was not a club I wanted to join, but I guess I'm here now.
I got some antibiotics despite most bronchitis being viral (because "it could also be whooping cough"--OKAY, YES, I WILL TAKE THE DRUGS) and some prescription cough suppressant gel tabs. So far I haven't noticed much difference, but that could be because the doc also told me to lay off the pseudoephedrine I was drying things up with as it was sending my blood pressure through the roof. :( My love affair with Sudafed is lyrical and epic, so this is a blow. Also, I'm past the three-day window for Afrin use. I suspect misery tonight.

Date: 2014-10-08 06:41 am (UTC)I have never felt this bad in my life. Except maybe that time in college when I got what must have been the flu, and had a fever so high I thought my eyeballs were melting.
Thanks for the tips and sympathy! I've used up half my bottle of honey on this thing, actually. Yay honey and herbal tea.
