I hope you get your wish for McMurphy/Richard fic-- I suppose I shipped them when the show originally aired, despite not really having a concept of shipping back then (even though I was aware of fanfic).

My husband got me the big China Beach DVD set for Christmas last year because he'd listened to me bemoan the lack of DVDs of the show for years and years prior to that. Total surprise, I exclaimed out loud and everything, which is not something I generally do. Amazingly, I haven't revisited the whole show yet and I really should Get On That because it's been far too long since I did.
