Ponderings and progress

Crap, where did October go? ...Oh, wait.
Today was a hydrocodone-level cramping day, but I told my reproductive system to go to hell and skated anyway. Fellow skater R (who is not the same person nor even the same gender as choreographer R, though their names are one letter apart) and I had our own little mini Curry session with bits and pieces we knew and remembered from real classes. She taught me an outside three turn into an Ina Bauer--which is super cool, especially with snazzy arms--and we both worked on forward cross rolls into a forward outside circle. I was not actually able to do this in the class back in January, but I had no trouble today. (On that note, I have also recently acquired easy, reasonably-sized-for-the-Bronze-test inside and outside figure eights. Amazing.) Yaaaaay, visible indications of progress!
I had my first lesson after three weeks off the ice a few days ago, wherein we basically tried to fix what had atrophied in those three weeks. Like my toe loop. It is, frankly, still rather sad. Oh, well. It'll get there again, I'm sure.
Another lesson and first show rehearsal tomorrow, ohgod. I will have many painkillers to get through those 2.5 hours. Skater!R has already been peppering Choreographer!R with potential dresses for us to wear, assuming the whole "Christmas Cats" thing isn't going to mean looking like refugees from Cats the musical, because she is absolutely not going to have what happened last year happen again. Some of them are extremely pretty, but I'm a bit concerned about low backs and wide shoulders. There are no two ways about it: I need a bra for this. The trick about sewing an old bra into the chest of the dress and cutting off the back is unlikely to work for me, because at 34DDD, a.) that isn't going to be enough support, and b.) my bras are way too expensive to do that with. Wal-Mart does not sell cheap bras in my size. Right now I'm thinking a nude leotard under the dress if it has a low back. Assuming I can find a leotard with a high enough back, anyway.
In completely unrelated news, think I'm going to be able to mine RL to write something funny for my Yuletide assignment. Mwahaha.
