Unfortunately, I'm going to run out of Percocet before my next appointment on Thursday if I take more than three half-tabs a day. (This guy's only in clinic on Mondays and Thursdays, and I think you would actually have to be dying to get a same-day appointment, or to see someone else in the practice.)
He may be willing to prescribe Lortab or Tramadol, both of which I can take, or even more Percocet (though I think at this point that's more than I need, and cutting them in half to get them to a point that won't knock me out is a pain). I'm certainly going to ask. He's generally been very good about giving me the painkillers I need, unlike every other gyn in town who's been like, "Just take Advil!" over the years, but he seemed a little reluctant at my last appointment. I'm not sure if the culture down here is to shuttle people off to pain specialists when they hit a certain period of time on narcotics or what.
Also unfortunately, my employer doesn't believe in half days for salaried employees. It's all or nothing. That said, because I don't have to punch a clock I can and have been leaving a bit early each day and checking in at home. I'll probably continue that for a while.
