The American Girl dolls, or at least the "buy a doll that looks like you!" ones, now come with doll laptops.

Oh, my.

I never had an AG doll of any era (although Samantha was cooooooool...actually, the detail on all the dolls' furniture and outfits was cool...probably why everything cost so much), but the ones I did have were, like, "Sleepytime Baby Doll's eyes close when you lay her down!" and "Dress Up Baby With Fifty Zillion Outfits All Sold Separately That We Will Advertise Incessantly Until You Beg Your Parents for Every Last One of Them!" There were definitely no laptops. I think Barbie might have had a boombox, but that was about as high-tech as it got.

I feel old now. I'm sure I'll feel even older on Thursday.

Man, I love the American Girl Dolls.

I, erm...

Well.

They're all at my parents', but I have a Samantha, a Felicity, an Addy, a Kit, a Kaya, a Josefina, and two girls of today.

My sister had the Kirsten, the Molly, and a Bitty Baby.

Um...

Yes.

I blame them for making me into a doll collector.

This was utterly random, and just going "yay, American Girls!"

Samantha was the first one I had, I got her when I was 8. I had most of her accessories - including her desk, her bed, her dresser...

My sister had Kirsten's bed and trunk.

After that, it was mostly just the dolls. I will admit that one of my girls of today? Was bought purely to showcase an outfit. (It was an Asian girl of today, and a Chinese New Year's outfit).

Yeah - I got Samantha back when they were still a small company, and Samantha, Kirsten, and Molly were your only options.

Wow. I'm very impressed. I had about five cheap cloth body/plastic head dolls, especially those soak-the-diaper-in-water-to-reveal-an-outfit kind of dolls, and I dressed them up with my old baby clothes. Probably better, though...I'm sure if I'd had an AG doll, I would've promptly lost half the accessories.
