The Lost City, Pt. 1
Mar. 12th, 2004 09:12 pmI want part twoooooooooooo...
Good ep. The hour flew by. As a die-hard Earth 2 fan, I still think of Jessica Steen as Julia Heller, and I kept expecting her to pull out her diaglove or go off somehwere secluded with a certain dark-haired pilot, but she was good as Elizabeth Weir, too. I usually don't notice acting unless it's terrifically bad, but JS really fit the role of an extremely intelligent newbie who is totally confused by what she's gotten herself into.
The subtext with Sam and Jack at Jack's house was, to use a totally cliched metaphor that everyone in my creative writing class would kill me for using, thick enough to cut with a butter knife. I'm surprised they could even breathe with all that UST. Another very well-acted scene; a lot went on in there with just a few sideways glances between them. Made my little shippy heart go pitty-pat, it did. ;)
The whole thing was good; it all fit together better than a lot of the ones earlier in the season seem to have done. Perhaps it's the fact that Jack played a larger role than, well, any other ep this season. Loved the bit at the beginning with washign the cell phone, and Sam's and his exchange about the atomic weight of boron. *snicker* I'm sure my roomie got a kick out of that one, didn't you, Kate? ;)
I repeat: I want part two!
