*chucks commas, periods, semi-colons, and other punctuation in the direction of the vast majority of Stargate fics* *violently introduces many, many authors to the Chicago Manual of Style* *flings beta-readers holding grammar guides towards said authors*
Ahem. Note to self: No more SG-1 fic for a while. Give the brain time to rest.
Yes, I am a Ficbitch. Oh, yes.
(P.S. Thank GOD other people wrote that SG/X-Files crossover. 'Cause Muse was thinking about making me do it. Well, starting and never finishing it, more likely, but whatever. It's such a perfect kind of xover--at least if you use Mulder and Scully from sometime before everything went to hell in season 6--but I have no desire to actually write it out.)

Date: 2003-05-25 03:29 pm (UTC)I find the best way to avoid the truly bad fic out there is to find some good authors and expand through their recommendations.
Jojo, Suz Voy, SelDear, Ruth M. King, DustDevil, Nanda, Denise and Jackie W. all seem to be good S/J writers. :)

Date: 2003-05-25 04:56 pm (UTC)But someone not on your list is Sally Reeve. I've been happily riding her Sam/Jack emotional rollercoaster for several days now. I got to the point where I had to take a break 'cause I was getting so emotionally drained--she has the characters and their relationship down, along with angst and sweet, sweet shippiness. She's the best that I've found outside of Noda, who's also excellent ("How Could I Not?" is one of my very favourite SJR stories). If you haven't yet, definitely check them out.

Date: 2003-05-26 07:26 am (UTC)Eeep. I hope you get new fic then!
But someone not on your list is Sally Reeve.
Dude, my bad. Why didn't I have her in my bookmarks? Okay, added her and Noda, thanks!

Oh, btw, I see you read JAG fic as well. Have you read Valerie's (http://valerie.no-ip.com/) stuff. "Sail Away" sounds so hokey, but it's rather good.

NP.

Alas, I've read a good bit of JAG fic, including that one (which was so great! Hee!). I'm running out of things to read! Hmmm, maybe that means I should get back to work on reading some non-fanficcy things... ;)
