So I watched me four hours of SG tonight. Oh my GOD, how could I have missed out on all this glorious Daniel/Michael Shanks goodness for SIX YEARS??? (Maybe 'cause I don't get Showtime and when they moved to Skiffy he wasn't there and didn't have the long hair that I really, really like in his one guest appearance that I saw...but still!) No more. Mmmm. *drools shamelessly* The screencaps don't do him justice. Longish hair and glasses and he's a geek. Maybe I don't want Janet to have him. Maybe I want him.
And I finally figured out who Sam/AT (also frelling gorgeous) reminds me of...looks like Rebecca Cole from Surprise by Design--yes, I watch crazy sitcoms-posing-as-design-shows--with a bit of young Angela Lansbury mixed in. And Sam appeals to my inner science geek. I was that eleven-year-old who read the entire section of the library on astro/quantum/theoretical physics in a year. Granted, those books were meant for general non-physisict consumption, I probably didn't understand half fo them, and I definitely skipped over any equations, but for a good long time, I was gonna be a physicist. And then I hit Algebra and that all went to hell, but whatever. Anyway, I was all over the black hole stuff in "A Matter of Time," happily geeking away. I want Sam's job really, really badly. Except for the math part. Damned math. I could do concepts, but I can't even add without a calculator anymore. *sigh*
Oh, and continuity. OMG. They have inter-season continuity! Praise be! Why on earth did I stop watching a few episodes after I started watching S6 last summer? *shakes head at self* At least I have all summer to catch up. And then I can have Stargate parties on Fridays with at least two people on my hall--including my roommate--in the very cool & always-unoccupied-except-by-geeky-types 4th floor Wellness lounge at school, so yay.

Date: 2003-05-26 08:29 pm (UTC)Dude, I didn't get showtime either and was Stargate-less until they moved to Sci Fi... I spazzed when I found out they were moving to a channel I actually *had*... seriously. I had been waiting 5 frickin years for that series, ever since I heard they were making it *into* a series. And *damn* did I miss Daniel. I mean, I had only ever seen one or two eps at Cristin's when I slept over at her house before the move, but good lord did I miss that boy... {{{{hugs daniel}}}}}
And he's back next season! YAYness! Though I like Jonas, too... I wonder how they're gonna work that out. I hope they don't kill the poor boy...
Woops ::clamps hands over mouth and shuts up before she gives them any evil ideas:: ::shifty eyes::

I love that show. They crack me up.

He is definitely yummy.
Mmm-hmmm. My current policy of celibacy? Right out the window if I ever meet anyone in RL who's even remotely like him. Oh, my God. *fans self*

I can't quit giggling all the way through whenever I watch it. Mostly at them, sometimes at the designs...that Austin Powers room the other day...hmmm. Interesting.

Date: 2003-05-27 08:42 am (UTC)Mmmmm, Daniel. I remember one time back in about season 3, he took off his jacket and I nearly hit the floor. Aaaaarms!
<praises CHCH for airing SG-1>
As for Jonas, I'm guessing you didn't see "Descent" either. Mmm, soaking wet, yeah!
I'm actually much more of a Jack girl, but the Daniel and Jonas eyecandy is so very, very good.

You did that too?! Woo for geekiness!

Date: 2003-05-27 02:58 pm (UTC)Mmmm-hmmm. WTVF showed "Summit" Sunday night (well, Monday morning, but who's counting?) Daniel in a tank top-type shirt. Yummy. Even if I like the long hair better...

Oh, I did see that. Dunno, didn't really notice Jonas too much. That was the one where everyone was on a ship with water flowing in, right? I vaugely remember a few cute S/J moments, but not Jonas.

Not really feelin' the Jack-love. Oh, I love his character (snark! Wheee!), but Daniel is definitely my eye candy.

Oh, yeah. I'd just gotten addicted to Star Trek and I was absolutely certain that I would be the one to engineer the first warp drive, Zephram Cochrane or no Zephram Cochrane. Although my favourite bits were always Stephen Hawking's essays on black holes...
