I should learn someday that fanfic benders are never a good idea. I think I need detox.
However, I have a hankering for first season X-Files fic, preferably UST or even MSR, but casefiles are cool, too. Googling has produced some, but not a lot, and Gossamer's update archives only go back to mid-1995, when everyone was writing about Scully's abduction. Which is cool and all, but...not what I want now. I guess I could hunt through Google's archive of the atxfc, but anyone wanna save me the trouble and rec me something? ;)

Date: 2004-05-31 03:24 am (UTC)The nice thing is that this isn't hurting as much as it usually is, because XF has a much higher signal-to-noise ratio than any other fandom I've read fic in. It's amazing. I hardly ever hit a bad fic, even when I'm just randomly hunting through Gossamer. So my anal little editor self isn't having mental breakdowns with each misplaced comma or sentence fragment, 'cause there aren't many to be found. It's so nice.
Woot! Recs! Thanks. :)
You also may want to check Gossamer's spoilers listing if you haven't already. It has fic arranged by the most recent episode spoiled in the story, including first season eps.
Yeah, good idea...I haven't done that yet. The only problem is that sometimes people will set things in later seasons, but refer to first season eps in the spoilers. I want a nice big dose of geeky!awkward!Scully and kooky!jerky!Mulder, and both of them being so cute you can hardly stand it. And, y'know, the less of the conspiracy, the better, 'cause while I can sometimes deal with it, the weirdness it degenerated into in the later seasons still drives me crazy. *makes threatening motions at CC*
