theusual* My iBook wouldn't even pretend to start up this afternoon--it made the start-up sound, then died. The screen didn't even light up. So Dad takes it to the shop where they'll box it up and send it to Apple...and it starts fine. Runs Norton's, otpimizes the drive--it starts fine.
No idea.

If it does it again, off to California it goes, though. Presumably, if the problem continues to exist, it's something to do with the hardware, which would be a bad thing to have go out overseas.

However, the temporary problem gave me the opportunity to play Suzy Homemaker. Actually, it was more like watching my mom do it, but heeeey. I did make the brownies. Mmmm, frosted Betty Crocker brownies. And I made dinner, with about the same level of involvement that that little girl in an old Shake & Bake commercial "made" her meal, but hey. Dumping things in a pan and stirring counts, right? Sure it does. And watching someone use the sewing machine to hem the curtains that have become my closet door is almost as good as doing it, right? And painting the bar of plastic that holds the beaded layer over the curtains up?
(Note to self: Take sewing and cooking classes before attempting to live on own in after graduation.)

In other news, according to the eye doctor I saw today, my eyes have gotten better. Yeah, I'm shocked, too. They haven't improved much--my right eye is -3.75, and the left is something not quite as bad but still not good--but hey, I'm not complaining. Would love to know why they've improved and how I can make them improve more. Because hey, only another ~20 years until I get to experience the joys of bifocals, so I should go into it with as little vision difficulty as possible... (Both my parents have bifocals. I'm doomed.)
