Whole new meaning to that "Down in the River to Pray" song, eh? "As I went down in the river to pray / studyin' about that good ol' way, / the raft of God slammed into my back..."
Ah, badfic.

Daily anti-Julia Child tip: chocolate chip muffin mix baked as a cake does not magically turn into a cake. It remains small and dry and muffin-like, only not cute. It's not particularly good at all, in fact. (However, it is chocolate, and thus will be disappearing down my gullet.)

Kohl's has become my retail crack of choice in the past year or two, and we ended up there again tonight. I got a suitcase that can easily fit everything and the kitchen sink in it, and it's exactly at the maximum that United allows for US travel. Will have to call Monday and see what their restrictions on travel to the UK are--hopefully the same. I also got another pair of these pants that are probably too short to be called capris (they barely hit the midpoint of my calf). They're great for down here, because you can't go outside in pants without dying, but you can't stay in any of the over-air conditioned buildings without freezing if you're in shorts. Anyway, noticed again that skorts have returned from the planet Xgmzwrks, or wherever it is they came from. I thought these things went out by '93 at the latest. Why are they coming back? Why have they not died the painful and complete, no-chance-of-pulling-a-Daniel death they so richly deserve?

Finally, why has the vidmuse come back to chatter to me about Cupid? (Oh, wait; 'cause
alethialia and I were chatting about it. Neeeever mind.) This is ridiculous 'cause a.) no vidding equipment (thank god, 'cause otherwise I would get nothing done) and b.) never actually seen the show, thus have no tapes. Um, yes. I am a sicko who can get hooked on a series solely via vidcaps, episode summaries, and fanfic. Anyway, vidmuse wants to play with that song. *points to music field* Gah. Why can't the writing muse be here, may I ask? I got a postcard in the mail the other day from her saying she's changed her permanent address to Bali and to please mail her effects there. Wench.
