Fangirling
Jun. 14th, 2004 12:31 amSo I had the pdf files of all the Wonderfalls scripts that are online (all except the last two, I think--at any rate, there are only ten scripts here, minus the pilot), and finally got around to reading them. I was trying to not spoil myself, since there seems to be murmurings of releasing all thirteen eps on DVD, but, well, the internet connection went out, and I had nothing else to read, and...yeah.
And now I have a physical need to see more of this show, or at least read more scripts. Seriously, it's right up there with food and shelter.
You canNOT have Eric go back to New Jersey with the Heidi-Ho and leave us hanging like that! Can! Not! Do it! AAAAAAUUUUUGGGGHHHHH!!! I was sort of on the Jaye/Eric fence after seeing the four episodes we did get to see, but I ended up shipping after reading some of the scripts, and now I feel the need to tear out the Heidi-Ho's intestines and strangle her with them. And I love Mahandra agonizing over her and Aaron. Neeeed to see more. Need. And my insatiable curiosity about the connection between the Native American spirits and Jaye's little animals is running around being...insatiable. (BTW, this show? More and more like Northern Exposure. Nice.)
Anyway. The writing is especially fabulous in the later scripts, particularly the mixing of comedy and drama. "Cocktail Bunny" had me falling out of my chair until the very end, where Eric saying he's going back to NJ came out of nowhere like (to use a horribly overused metaphor) a punch in the gut. I can imagine the screams of outrage that one would've gotten had it aired. But outrage in a good way, 'cause I actually cared, and was moved by what Jaye was going through. That, of course, might change when/if I see the actual ep, as I wasn't particularly impressed with the actor playing Eric in any of the eps we saw...but anyway, it was there for the script.
And dude! Eric gets a last name! Woot!
