Saw in the paper today that a girl I've known since first grade (she was a year ahead of me in school) got married this month. It's freaky, man. No way am I old enough for people I knew as seven-year-olds to be married. Right? Meep!

I saw someone on a message board a little while ago write something along the lines of, "I had a starter marriage in my twenties, and then after the divorce..." Starter marriage? If nothing else, I would think that it would be cheaper (divorce attorneys, etc.) just to live together instead of getting married if you think of it like that.

Why people thinks it's better not live in sin and get married. And then they end up getting a divorce which is always a sin.

Hmmm. I guess I can see that. Although logically, I would think that those who view living-together-while-unmarried as a sin would be the ones to take marriage the most seriously...but maybe that's a false correlation. I'm all for divorce if people find they really can't stand each other after x years of marriage, but I do think it's kind of sad that fewer and fewer people seem to be paying attention to the "till death do you part" portion of marriage vows, and looking at marriage as just a fun thing to do on a Sunday afternoon with no lasting consequences.
