bogland_lit for any Irish Lit. fans out there. *eyes
rowdycamels* It's brand new, but I think it could be interesting.

Watched Cold Mountain tonight. Decent movie, if a little slow; it's hard to believe so much of it was filmed in Romania. It looked exactly like the southern Appalachians. I could swear I was up at some of the creeks just last week. ;) I ordinarily despise Renee Zellweiger, but she was tolerable, and pretty funny, in this one. Nicole Kidman had the perfect hick accent. Too bad her character was supposed to be from Charleston. *snerk* Although I guess we don't know how anyone sounded back in the 1860s, so I suppose all the accents should get a free pass. (And when I appointed myself arbiter of decent southern accents, I have no idea...) And hey, Alison Krauss! Woot!
Don't think I'll read the book, though. The story was...not entirely interesting. It reminded me of O Brother, Where Art Thou? with almost all the funny removed. (The fact that both are loosely based on the Odyssey of course has nothing to do with this.) I mostly liked the scenery. Oooh, pretty mountains.
Speaking of which, pictures! In the next post, anyway, which may be coming tonight, or possibly tomorrow. Depends on how long it takes to resize all my pics.
