Ah, the toys.
Jul. 26th, 2004 08:11 pmWent to Target this evening. Meandered down one aisle of the toy section that was, apparently, dedicated to my childhood--all in one place were assembled Care Bears, My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, and even Polly Pocket. It was amazing, I tell you. Add in some Popples and a few baby dolls and you have my entire life from ages 1 to 9. And they're actually making the Ponies out of the same type of molds they did in the 80s, instead of those odd elongated things they had a few years ago. I was sorely tempted by the $4.99 beanie Care Bear, but decided that probably I don't need yet another stuffed animal to take up residence on either the top of my bookcase or my bed.

snerk* That triplet thing...
Dude, Polly Pocket was the coolest! I had the really long one that would never fit into any pocket and yet...still cool.
Yeah, the heart and square-shaped ones I had didn't even pretend to fit in a pocket, but I liked them. They did fit in a backpack, I think.
And Care Bears? ::loves::
I think that "Care Bear Stare" started many a child down the road to exhibitionism.
I used to want to be Rainbow Bright. Hell, I still want to.
I never go into Rainbow Bright. She was just so...perky. (Which, yes, I know, let's think about what else I was watching, but anyway...) I was more into GI Joe.
Add Ninja Turtles in there and yep, my entire childhood.
Oh my GOD, Ninja Turtles. They were my favoritest things ever in first grade. One of the turtles and April was quite possibly my first shipper couple. (Or maybe I did some kind of group ship and thought they would all get married to April...I wasn't entirely clear on this marriage thing as a six-year-old...)
Speaking of, a group of friends and I were seriously arguing about which was the coolest Turtle the other day. Yeah, we're all geniuses.
It's all about Leonardo.
And, well, it'd suck to be a poor pirate. Kinda defeats the purpose, no?
Hmmm...you have a point...
