Where did this come from?
Aug. 3rd, 2004 10:48 pmSo I'm reorganizing the files and folders on my web server to eliminate the folders within folders within folders mess that's grown up over the past seven or eight years. Because I've written a boatload of fic and don't remember a good bit of it, I'm having to open a bunch of files just to see what they are and where I should put them. First of all: Why the hell did no one take my posting/website access away during middle school and most of high school? Why? OMG, there is SO. MUCH. BADFIC. contained in that fic folder. UGH. Did my thirteen-year-old self really think that this crap needed to be placed online for everyone to see? Really? Auuuugggghhhh. So, so, so bad. I'm glad I wrote them, 'cause I learned what mistakes not to make, but whatever possessed me to put them anywhere else but my hard drive?
I also ran into some original fic from eighth and ninth grades that is so utterly bizarre that it makes me wonder what kind of crack I was on during those years. Seriously, there's one about an alien ship landing on Earth, a vampire meeting the aliens and turning them all into vampires, and then all of them formulating a plan to both kill every remaining human (and drink their blood) and lure passing alien ships to Earth (to drink their blood). (Obviously, this was somewhere near the height of my Forever Knight obsession, and probably was influenced by The X-Files as well.) There's another one about a monster made out of gunk at the bottom of recyling bins coming to life and taking over a school that bears a remarkable resemblance to my high school, then being pushed off the roof by my Mary Sue character. (Guess which XF episode had just aired.)
*facepalm*
