Jun. 4th, 2003 11:51 amI'm a little young for some of this, but Nashville is always a few years behind as far as fashion and culture goes, so it all evens out.
1.) You know who Leonardo, Michelangelo, Raphael and Donatello are.
TMT were my first grade obsession. I think I shipped all of them with April at some point.
2.) You remember the MilliVanilli scandal.
Ever-so-very vaguely. In the same vague way that I remember the Gulf War.
3.) You religiously watched 90210, Melrose Place, Party of Five, and My So-Called Life.
Er, no.
4.) You tight-rolled your jeans.
Oh, thank God, no.
5.) You wore big hoop earrings.
Still don't have my ears pierced. I wore stick-on earrings, though.
6.) You thought bellbottoms were horrible and couldn't understand why anyone would've ever worn them.
Well, yeah.
7.) You knew how to do the dances called the MC Hammer, the Roger Rabbit, and the Running Man.
No, but I took ballet...
8.) You owned a pair of K-Swiss, Keds, or Air Jordans.
I actually owned the cheap Keds knock-offs still sold by places like K-Mart and Wal-Mart.
9.) You thought "Ice Ice Baby" was the coolest song ever, and when your parents told you Vanilla Ice would be a shot in the pan, you refused to believe them.
I just remember that playing a lot at both the roller and ice skating rinks.
10.) Your bangs were at least 4 inches high, and you thought it looked good.
No. I had bangs that just got in my eyes a lot until I finally grew them out in eighth grade.
11.) You tried to sing along to "Informer", no matter how hard it was.
What?
12.) You or your sister owned a banana barrette and a T-clip.
Yes. And a hot pink T-shirt ring to top it all off.
13.) A hairdryer was required to set your hair.
Nope. My hair was so long until I was eight that the only thing I could have done with it, even if I wanted to do more, was have Mom put it in a ponytail or braid it.
14.) You rolled up the sleeves of your t-shirts, and tucked in the front, letting the back hang out.
Yes. Dumb me.
15.) You had any "No Fear" or "B.U.M." clothing.
Um, people still wear this quite a bit...not me, but lots of other people...
16.) You wore 2 pairs of neon colored socks.
Three. All rolled down. Yellow, pink, and green. Second grade was stylin'.
17.) You wore overalls with only one side connected.
Never had any overalls, but the school administration bitched at the students in general about this.
18.) You had Exclamation perfume. (or "Primo!")
No perfume.
19.) You remember when cartoons were actually GOOD, and not scary like the Teletubbies.
Oh, yeah.
20.) You loved to slow dance to Power Ballads.
Well, no...
21.) You had a "slap bracelet".
Several. As did everyone else.
22.) You wore your sweatpants pulled up to your knees.
I don't remember this trend. I'm glad.
23.) You had a black Debbie Gibson hat.
24.) You wanted to be just like Paula Abdul.
25.) You know the words to "The Humpty Dance".
26.) You owned the Spin Doctors tape.
Not so much.
27.) You said, "PSYCH" or "WAY!"
Far, far too often.
28.) You saw "Wayne's World" at least 2 times at the theater.
Does video count?
29.) You loved the New Kids on the Block (and Joey was probably your favorite.)
You know, when I got to kindergarten, all the girls had lunchboxes with these people on them. I had Sesame Street. I always had the feeling I was missing something.
30.) You wore jeans pulled up to your navel.
*looks down at current jeans* Um, where are they supposed to be?
31.) All of your clothes were "baggy".
The T-shirts and sweaters were all huge...
32.) You owned a pair of biker shorts, and possibly ones with a neon strip down the middle.
Actually, I still own a pair of black Lycra biker shorts. This little thing I have about not wearing skirts without something under them...especially that too-short dress I bought for the latin portion of ballroom comps...
33.) You wore "water shoes" into the pool.
*mumble* Maybe....
34.) You had a boom box, or your stereo was a weird color like pink.
Had a pink Walkman...
35.) You bought tapes instead of CDs.
I didn't really start buying music until a few years after we got our first CD player, which was when I was nine.
36.) You never missed "Fresh Prince" and you know all the words to the theme song.
Everybody else liked it.
37.) You or someone you knew wore "Cross-Colors" clothing.
The name sounds familiar...
38.) You remember when TLC weren't divas, and they dressed like they were in the circus.
Noooo...
39.) You thought "I'm Too Sexy" was such a cool song.
It still is!
40.) You "busted a move" while C&C Music Factory was playing.
Not really.
41.) You remember when Mark Wahlberg was part of MarkyMark and the Funky Bunch.
Hee! MarkyMark.
42.) You owned a silk shirt, which you tucked into your jeans.
Nope.
43.) You had jeans in various colors, like green, brown, burgundy, black...
I was more into leggings of various colors, worn with long T-shirts or sweaters. I was a very strange child.
44.) You had a "Button Your Fly" t-shirt.
45.) You had a Ren & Stimpy t-shirt.
46.) You thought long-haired heavy metal bands would never go out of style.
Nah.
47.) You were addicted to Nintendo.
Had friends who were.
48.) There was always a "scrunchy" in your pony tail.
Or a big, fluffy bow. Or the scrunchy was pulling my T-shirt to the side. (Can someone please explain why we thought this was cool?)
49.) You gave the "peace" sign all the time.
Yep.
50.) You loved Beavis and Butthead.
Knew people who did... Was always more of a Daria girl, myself.
51.) If you are a guy, you had an "undercut" and you parted it down the middle.
Hmmmm.
52.) You owned at least one Hypercolor t-shirt.
Yes.
